How to Convert Images to PDF: JPG, PNG and More

Images and PDFs serve different purposes: images are for displaying visual content, while PDFs are for sharing structured documents. But sometimes you need to bridge the two — turning a collection of photos into a proper document, or packaging a scanned form into a shareable PDF. Converting images to PDF is one of the most practical file tasks you will encounter.
Why convert images to PDF?
- Sharing photographed documents. If you photograph a paper form, a receipt, or an ID document with your phone, you often need to submit it as a PDF. Converting the JPG photo to a PDF makes it suitable for formal submission.
- Creating a single file from multiple images. Instead of sending someone ten separate image files, combining them into a single PDF is much more convenient and professional.

Converting JPG to PDF

Converting PNG to PDF

Tips for the best image-to-PDF results
- Use the highest-resolution image available. The PDF embeds your image at its original resolution. Starting with a high-resolution image ensures the PDF will print sharply.
- Photograph documents in good light and from directly above. When photographing documents with a phone, ensure good lighting, hold the camera parallel to the document surface (not at an angle), and make sure all four corners of the document are visible in the frame. This produces a much cleaner result.
- Crop the image before converting. If your photo shows the surface the document is resting on, crop it to the document edges before converting. Many phone camera apps have a built-in document scanner that crops and corrects perspective automatically.
- Check the orientation. Open the resulting PDF to confirm it is the right way up. If the image was saved rotated, rotate it before converting to PDF.
What if I need multiple images in one PDF?
